Estrogen Cream

Has anyone used premarin cream. I am just starting menopause with the hot flashes, weight gain, anxiety, etc, My GYN prescribed Avista-an estroten/progesterin pill. I took it for about 7 days and then decided the risk of heart disease and breast cancer wasn't worth it. Someone told me to try a prescription for premarin cream. I don't know if there are any side effects to it and if it is worth taking. Just wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on it. thanks

I wouldnt encourage anyone to take premarin as there is an animal welfare issue involved and the synthetic hrt is proven to be much safer.

I HAVE BEEN USING THE PREMARIN CREAM OFF AND ON SINCE MY HYSTO AND IT HELPS SOME. I ALSO TAKE PREMARIN HORMONES. THERE IS ANOTHER TYPE OF PREMARIN THAT IS IN QUESTION, NOT THE CREAM OR THE PILL I TAKE. MY SUGGESTION IS TO TRY IT.

I dont see the point in using a product that comes from the suffering of those poor mares when there is a sythetic alternative though.
