Scar Revision

Hey Doc.,

I explained my situation to you a couple posts back...but real quickly..I'm currenlty on a low dose treatment for acne...I'm taking 20mg every other day to keep my oil production down..I understand this slows the healing process down...but that my wound will still heal eventually to some...my scar revision I had done is right below my cheek...the spot is still dark after 3 weeks..here are my questions:

(1.) What is the best way to treat this wound...I have been putting regular neosporin on it all the time...should I eventually let it dry out..should I stop the neosporin?

AND

Should I try mederma or could this possibly aggrivate the wound being that I'm on accutane...I'm just a bit confused on what the best method could be to ensure I heal this thing the best I can..I know time will ultimately heal it..but I want to heal it correctly or as good as I can.

I think Mederma is a good idea.  It certainly won't cause any problems.  You might also add a cream containing Vitamin E, since that can help too.  But as you said, time is the best healer in such situations.  But you need to be patient.

Take care.
