memory loss

by jwhutch, Oct 21, 2007 08:51PM
Last year I was put on a cpap machine.  This elimanted the sleeping during day and most of my short term memory loss.  But a year later I find that on days I've had to really work hard or stressed out, by the time evening gets here, I do things that I don't remember the next day.  One evening I painted a full living room wall in my nightgown.  I discovered the paint can in the morning.  The doc thinks I maybe having seizures.  I will be getting an EEG.  I thought maybe it was a side effect from taking Ambien CR for over three years.  Any help?

Sure don't know about painting, but I have a wall that needs done? Had you planned on painting it? Probably, as you had the paint. I have been taking Ambien CR for over a year now, and so far haven't had that kind of a problem However if I try to skip a night I have very terrible weird nightmares. Glad your doc is looking in to it. Please post results.

From what I understand about Ambien, you need to get completely ready for bed, then take the med and get in bed right away.
People have complained that they would take the med, then talk to family members or do things, and not be able to remember their actions later.
Ambien does cause amnesia.

i have convulsive and non-convulsive seizures.  when i have a non-convulsive, i black out and do stuff that i don't remember doing.  i was at work 1 day and had a black out.  i had a co-worker pushed against the wall by her neck.  1 hand around her neck and the other hand pulled back in a fist (like i was going to hit her).  when i came out of my black out, my co-workers told me what happened because i didn't remember doing it.  luckily she knew what was going on.
