1 & 4 year old --- BREAKOUT on chin

by CGLENN, Oct 22, 2007 10:17PM
Hey guys,

This is the first year that my 4 year old son has this problem:  We live in Chicago where the weather has been unexpectedly warm, but he has this sort of dry, red bumps (breakout) from the bottom of his lower lips down to his chin.  It spreads across and is on the side of his lip line also.  It gets very irritated and I am now noticing it on my 1 year old as well.  I have not changed their diet or detergent.  I try to use Vaseline to keep it moist, but they just look a greasy mess.  Any idea of what it could be or how to cure it?  If it was the typical "Chicago" weather I would associate it to the negative degree windy weather, but it's been nice. My poor kids.

it could be an allergic reaction, more common in warm weather due to pollen, in which case you could buy a liquid anti-histamine like phenergan or piriton syrup. If it does not clear up take them to the doctors as my son has had childhood acne from a young age.
