bloodshot

by salukigirl, Oct 23, 2007 02:34PM
the past few days i have felt like there were bags under my eyes. then i look and dont see any. the other day my boyfriend thought he accidentally punched me in my sleep because my left eye looked bruised. then today i looked at it and saw that its bloodshot. i dont have any recollection of hitting my eye and my blood pressure is normally pretty low. i dont have a cold and im only on birth control pills (yaz). does this sound familiar to anyone?

If you have a patch of bright red blood on the white of your eye you probably have had a subconjunctival hemorrhage a common, non-serious broken blood vessel. Trivial trauma such as cough, sneeze, strain can cause it. It can occur spontaneously.

If you vision is okay and there is no pain it requires the same treatment as a bruise ie. wait and watch it go away.
