Chest pain after Angina

Thanks for your fast response.  I know I need to get a cardiac eval soon but the problem is that the interventionaL cardiologist I see, already has a story in his head and says "it's too soon."  (Because the arterties were good at 6 mos).  How do I find another interventional cardiologist?  I'm so tired of begging (since day 1 and that was 5 years ago I have had to push this Dr and he always says "it's nothing" and it winds up there is always something (10+stents of something and then the bypass x4)  He is also from a well-known heart hospital.   How do I find another good interventional cardiologist?

I think you may have to do some homework-- ask others, search the internet, etc. There is no simple "this is how to do it",,I think word of mouth is very important; you may try callling your local hospital and just asking them who is there and then you can research them.

I was really concerned about finding a great cardiologist when I moved last year.  Had 4 stents (ended up w/ a 5th) and wanted to make sure my care was in the hands of a good doc.  What I ended up doing was checking w/ my GPs to find the best cardiology groups in the area, and combined that w/ some internet research for the highest rated heart hospital in the area.  I called the cardiology group associated w/ the best hospital, and talked to one of the nurses in the practice.  Nurses are great sources of info on the docs.  After some pressuring (don't think they are allowed to provide an opinion, but shared my story and she was very sympathetic), I asked if her father/husband had my problem, who would she recommend to them.  She gave me the docs name, and I could not be happier.  Whenever any of the nurses at the hospital ask who my doc is, they all say he's the best.  With your story, I imagine you can find a nurse who would be able to give you similar advice.  Best of luck!
