by strawberri, Oct 23, 2007 11:16PM
I just read on dlife, that the new replacement fat for Transfats is even more dangerous, and to Diabetic's a WARING. IT WILL RAISE YOUR BLOOD SUGARS, it was show in trails to do this. It is a CHEMICALLY Modified oil. Its in Butter Substitutes, Fried Foods  and Baked Goods. Look for this on the package of foods u by, It either called IE, or INTERESTERIFIED, yuck so we all better be extra careful to understand that the companys are tricking us and it will harm our health....So if u see no trans fat, look closer for this ing in the package

Thanks for posting strawberri...stuff is nasty!

From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interesterified_fat

Interesterified fats are oils that have been chemically modified (e.g., turning soybean oil into interesterified soybean oil). This is done in order to make them more solid, less liable to go rancid and more stable for applications such as deep frying. The interesterification process is used as an alternative to partial hydrogenation, which results in trans fats. However, research indicates that interesterified fats may pose health risks, some greater in magnitude than trans fats[1].
