What Stage and cell type did your pathology report indicate?

Adjuvant therapy, such as radiation or chemotherapy, for LMP tumors of the ovary is controversial and currently, insufficient information is available to make a definitive statement regarding these approaches. However many gynecologic oncologists would recommend chemotherapy for those patients with advanced disease namely tumor nodules that have spread within the abdominal cavity. Patients with advanced disease are not eligible for a conservative operation that would preserve fertility.

Thanks for the articles. This is a recurrence in my case. The CA125 never went beyond 4 during the chemo I took in 2005.

What stage was the LMP originally? Must have been III or IV if they did chemo, correct?
What chemo did they give you for this initial treatment?
You're seeing a Gyn/Onc I presume.

Stage 2. A few abnormal cells were found and the diagnosis was border line tumor. I took 5 rounds of Cisplatin and Taxol. The side effects were bad. The cancer has come back in one area only. It did respond to Carboplatin for a while and now it seems that I need another drug to control it. Hopefully the doctor at MD Anderson will  help me. Thanks for your encouragement.
