side/left back pain

by sfastkey, Oct 24, 2007 10:26AM
I have gone to urgent care 4 times in 10 days for great discomfort in my left side/back. Feels like a lump near the rib case or under it to me.  Dr. not able to feel lump on palpation, no fever, vital all okay, no blood in urine, nothing on Xray.

Now I'm tired of going in to urgent care, but I have developed a lump on surface of side where pain was, it is red and itches.  I did go in when redness started, dr. said not shingles.  Only one spot.

However, red lump is getting larger, about the circumference of a silver dollar, small lump under it and I still have the sensation of under rib cage lump but less pain.

What could this be?

Can you describe the spot more?  Does it look like a bruise or perhaps a target?
