Microcalcifications

by Gerri741, Oct 24, 2007 03:32PM
I had a biopsy last Thursday for microcalcifications in my left breast.  Because I have implants and the microcalcifications were determined to be indeterminate, the radiologist suggested a needle localization and an excisional biopsy. I have not heard back yet. I thought I would have heard something by now and am very, very nervous.  Does it always take this long.  Also, if my results are positive, should I have the implants removed first so I can then have radiation if needed or can I leave the implants in.  Also, do you know anything about Mammosite?  If so, would I be able to have that with the implants?  Thank you.

Hi,

You could call up your doctor or the lab and ask for the reports. Or you could also , go there and ask for a copy of the reports.

Nothing can be said about the further management plan in your case till the reports come in, and also a discussion with a breast specialist is important.

Let us know about how you are doing and do post us the reports when they come in.

Regards.
