Blood Test results

by sting28, Oct 24, 2007 05:49PM
Hopefully you can tell me what is happening with these results and help me make my next step..

I am 52 yo male with Kleinfelter's syndrome.. I have been on prescription drugs for many years... Androgel, xanax prilosec for 15 years..stopped 5 months ago..My reflux stopped?? and tricor 145 mgs for high cholesterol and triglycerides...

Last sept 2006 during a routine visit they found protein in my urine...I saw a kidney specialist and he did some intensive blood work....ANA, C3, C4 CH50, RA, Electro w/TP serum + Immunoglobulins A G M serum... All tests were negative except for ANA @ 1:80 and Igg serum @ 2324  2.47...He suggested lupus at that time....
I decided to get a second opinion, saw a new kidney doctor and he repeated the same tests again except this time he added a few more  CBC 24 hour protein ANA, SJOGRENS SSB, CARDIOLIPIN AB, SM AB EIA, SM RNP AB, SJOGRENS SSA AB, .  Before I took this blood test i did some research and found that anticonvulsants can give a false positive test for ana's...I did not take xanax that morning and all tests came back NEGATIVE...
Since all tests were negative he put me on a low dose of analipril to help ease the kidneys with the protein loss
In april 2007 I retook the 24 hr protein test and the ruslts came back at 817 mgs @24 hr...meanwhile during the few months prior my liver enzymes Alt Ast were rising slowly blood pressure meds tricor meds were stopped due to liver enzymes...in may 2007 i went to a liver doctor and he did blood tests again  ANA 1:320 SPECKLED WAS HOMOGENUS 6 MONTHS AGO  SMA 1:40 ASMA NEGATIVE, CMV NEGATIVE EBV POSITIVE 5.89 SUGGESTS A PAST INFECTION  CMV IGG NEGATIVE CBC NORMAL, GAMMA GLOBULIN 2.67 ALT 125 AST 53...This time i did take xanax.... He thinks its autoimmune hepatitis...as he said
He told me to go for a biopsy to rule it out....My regular doctor internist took another blood test for my cholesterol...CHOLESTEROL 202  LDL 118  HDL 29  TRIGLYCERIDES 278..He said that he has seen high triglycerides raising alt's and ast's so he instructed me to cut all simple sugars and high fructose corn syrups found in many drinks...I have no symptoms at all.. Normal color urine stool, no fatigue, swelling, jaundice, fever, pain, loss of weight except for being off of prilosec my digestion is normal..I always delt with constipation, and bloating being on prilosec..Now i'm regular and normal...I went to see another liver specialist today and he said the same thing autoimmune hepatits...
Everything i read about this disease ,my blood tests don't fall into this diagnoses....alt are usually 10 fold along with ast at 5 fold  sma at 1:80 min...and I said before the ana's aren't a marker...I think there are other liver test that both doctor didn't even consider taking...Why is every doctor biopy happy...This is what scares me.. Can you make sense of this

Please help
