confused about Byetta

by carole624, Oct 25, 2007 08:02PM
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last November I started taking metformin 2xdaily. In August I started taking byetta 10mg 2x daily. My a1c is7.2.  I hope it will come down more.  When I check my blood sugar sometimes it's pretty consistant ranging from 110 to 140 usually it's closer to 110 sometimes lower..  The other day I checked my sugar and was down to 40.  I quickly ate and it went up to 90 which was fine and then today at work it was up to 269.  I am surprised to ger these readings.  Is this unusual?  I have lost about 10lbs and hope to loose more weight.  Are alot of people on Byetta loosing weight?  Is ther anything else AI should be doing.  I still take metformin2xdaily with the byetta

What di u eat before the 269. I don't know waht kind of diet u are on. Sometime being on Byetta to loose weight the portion control and low carbs help. But watch your Bs. I was suppose to start Byetta and I went to to the Byetta site and got freaked out. I have read thatpeople on Byetta sometime have blood sugars all over the place. SoI don't think it is rare, but I am wondering if it is what u might have ate. Sugar, starches, junk food, processed dood, and do u drink alot of diet soda? let me know carole
