lung transplant

My brother-in-law  has Emphysema and the doctors say there is nothing more they can do,  he is on oxigen  24/7   .    He is 70 years old and been a smoker all his life.. does this disqualify him being  being on the list.. he is getting at home hopice an hour a day..

NO UNFORTUNATELY AGE PLAYS A FACTOR MOST DO NOT TRANSPLANT AFTER 65 MY HUSBAND IS AWAITING TRANSPLANT NOW AND HE HAS HOME HEALTH CARE WE WERE TOLD THAT IF HE HAD TO HAVE HOSPICE HE WAS TO ILL TO BE TRANSPLANTED
