Side effect from isosorbide mononitrate

by asc01, Oct 26, 2007 06:02AM
Yesterday my GP started me on 10mg isosorbide mononitrate twice daily.  I know headache is a recognised side-effect, but wonder how long it normally takes for this to wear off when taking them regularly, as it's pretty bad.  I've had slightly more chest pain than I did before!

She did not specify a frequency.  I see some websites recommend a 7 hour interval, then a 17 hour drug-free period.  Is this usual?
