MRI results

by Roxie0818, Oct 26, 2007 11:45AM
I'm playing telephone tag with the doctors office and in the meantime I got my MRI report.  Now I'm just waiting for my lab reports that were done 10/2.... MRI shows
6mm T1 hyperintense lesion at C6 vertebral body prob represents hemangioma

C5-6 diffuse disk bulge effacing anterior subarachnoid space., no central or neural foraminal stenoisis

C6-7 small right paracentral disk protrusion, effaces anterior thecal sac without deformity of spinal cord. neural foramina remain patent

.9 cm  enhancing nodule in right lobe of thyroid gland posteriorly, multiple small cervical lymph nodes bilaterally.

Subccntimeter foci of hyperintense T1 signal in thoracic vertebral bodies poss focal fatty marrow or hemangiomas.

Nothing to suggent demylinating disease...

I'm having alot of tingling between my left shoulder blade and spine.. with numbness and burning pain... more headaches lately..  also bilateral leg weakness..

I had 16 lab test done on 10/2  including thyroid.. this MRI was done to figure out if my dx 7 yrs ago with MS was correct or not.  since my last brain MRI showed the lesion that was there is no longer there, they are now doubting the MS dx.

Any suggestions???

Hi Rox,

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, you must be so confused w/all this.  One of these Dr's is going to have to narrow this all down, and give you some answers. . .

I really hope you get the help you need, and a definitive dx along with some relief, and soon!

doctors office called.... nurse said doc is concerned of the "cervical stenosis" and is referring me to a neuro surgeon.  Also he is concerned of the "nodule on thyroid" and is referring me to a endocronologist.   ALL 16 LABS WERE NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  including thyroid test.... sigh.......isn't it funny the thoughts that go thru a persons mind when labs are normal?  of course I'm glad they are good, but then again...nothing explains what all I am going thru..   oh well......... I know I have it good, so I won't complain :)
Have a great weekend!

I am worried because I have to see a surgeon for a biopsy for a swollen lymphnode that was discovered in my neck at my annual physical last month.  I also have MS.  Would this have anything to do with the MS or the Avonex that I am taking?

Please see an endocrinologist as soon as you can.  I don't want to frighten you; your case can be totally different.  My best friend had regular labs, but still new something was wrong.  She went through three doctors before she found a wonderful endocrinologist that recognized things that were enought off to raise alarms in his brilliant mind.

She had a fine needle aspiration of a nodule on her thyroid, and before long, she had a thyroidectomy; and it was cancer.  This doctor saved her life, because he recognized that normal isn't always normal.  That was several years ago and she is doing fine and dandy.

Your nodule might be something totally benign, but I definitely wouldn't mess around with finding out just what it is.  I think its fairly common to have benign growths; my friend just happened to be lucky enough to find out early that hers wasn't.

I have a hemangioma in my C4 vertebra that has pretty much filled it up; has been there for 8 years without change, so most likely totally benign.

I'll let the doctor's decide what's causing the headaches, tingling, burning pain, and numbness.

Follow up on these issues soon, OK?  I'd love to hear how things turn out; I'll be hoping for the best, especially relief from those nasty symptoms.
