Could this be MS or migraines?

by rayebear, Oct 26, 2007 12:20PM
I hope someone can help me understand this a little better. I recently had a MRI done because I have been having dizzy spells, numbness on my right side, headaches, and muscle weakness.
Well my findings on the MRI were:
There are numerous small foci of abnormal FLAIR and T2 prolongation in the deep white matter tracts, most prominently in the subcortial portion of the right parietal lobe with numerous other smaller lesions seen subcortically throughout the supratentorial brain.  These lesions are not associates with enhancement, diffusion restiction, or hemorrahage. In light of the symtomalogy and the patients age (i'm 31) the possibility of demyelinating disease could be considered as well. Follow-up imaging or other clinical evaluation may be necessary. The brain parenchyma, ventricles and subarachnoid spaces otherwise appear unremarkable as do the sinuses and musculoskeletal structures.

Impression:
Leukoencephalopathy suspicious for underlying demyelination disease with differential considerations as discussed above.

My nureo threw MS around and I am awaiting my spianl tap results now.
Does this sound like MS?

Hi. I hope you are feeling better of your symptoms. i wnat this to be brought back up so someone with ore experience can answer you. it definetely sounds like a demyelinating disease because of the findings but have your neuro done all the neurological testings already. it is a good idea to have some evoke potentials, blood test and other stuff to crroborate the dx. Good luck with that.

Very possible MS, but more tests needed to rule out all sorts of other things.  Ask the Nuero to give you a VEP test to check for Optic Nueritis and consider having an MRI done with and w/o contract of your cervical and thoracic spine.

No since Oct 29th I have had a ringing in right ear. Should I seek some med. attention for this? It doesn't hurt just simply ANNOYING...
Also my MS panel was sent to Utah I live in TX is this normal? I have been waiting since Oct 23rd for the results.
What is a VEP test?
