A cyst that cannot be aspirated

I found a lump in my right breast.  I have fibrocystic breasts anyway, but this felt different than my other breast tissue.  Also, it is hard/fixed/nontender.  Went to my gyn who sent me for a mammogram, which showed a 2.5cm nodule.  From there, I was sent for an US which showed a 2.5cm cyst.  I saw a surgeon this morning.  He wanted to aspirate it but when he tried, he didn't get fluid.  He then said that it is just too small to aspirate and just to keep watching it.  Should I be worried?

can I confirm that size.....2.5 cm??  Or 2.5mm??     If it is 2.5cm, personally I damn well would not be content to watch it.  I would want to make sure one way or the other at that size.

If 2.5mm, I would give him 3 months and then would want more tests....

The same radiologist read my mammogram and my ultrasound.  On both, the size is 2.5cm...not mm.

I would have thought that a cyst that cannot be aspirated, by definition is not a cyst.  A 2.5cm lump is big - I had a 2cm tumour and had to have a lumpectomy, total axillary removal, chemo and rads. I wouldn't mess with a 2.5 cm lump on a wait and see basis, I would go and see another radiologist.

2.5 is not too small to aspirate....my 2.1 cm was the size of a walnut, at least.  You need to get a second opinion if your surgeon wants to wait....should you be worried, very possibly,  should you wait...emphatically NO!

GET A SECOND OPINION!!!    My 2.3cm nodule could not be aspirated also....so it was BIOPSIED.  Unfortunately, it WAS cancer.   PLEASE don't wait.

Go for a second opinion at a breast center. If it is cancer catching it early is very important and if is not cancer I would still have it removed.

My mom was told that she had a cyst and the doctor couldn't get any fluid either. Today she was given the result of the mammogram - she has cancer and they are going to operate in a month...so I would do further tests if I were you.
