thyroid nodules

by nancyd1267, Oct 27, 2007 09:21AM
I was diagnosed with hashimotos about 10 years ago after the birth of my 4th child. recently i had a disc replaced at the c5c6 level. i was ok after the surgery but at 8 weeks post op i had a feeling of squeezing around my neck. it feels like someone is trying to choke me by pressing on the front mid base of my neck. i had a thyroid ultrasound and my thyroid was about 4.8 x 2 x 1.5 on the right with a 9 mm nodule and 4.7 x 1.7 x 1.3 on the left. i had a  nuclear scan which seemed normal. i was on 25mcg of synthroid for 12 weeks or so. the feeling of pressure in my neck was getting worse. not really a swallowing problem more just pressure at the front of my neck. extremely unbearable. my next ultrasound 4 months later shows a thyoid of 4 x 3 x 1.7 on the right with 2  9mm nodules now and 3.9 x 2.3 x 1.2 on the left. all blood tests are normal except for antibodies which are extremely high. my endocrinolgist refered me to an ent who says my throat is fine. my disc surgeon says on his end everthing is fine. the endocrinologist doubled my synthroid and doesnt want to see me for 4 months. i cant take this feeling. any suggestions?

Sorry you didn't get an answer to your question, which is most likely because we don't know, or due to so many repeat and/or similar questions, perhaps it was answered in another post, so you might do a thread/post search.

However, if you haven't already, you might go to the Doctor Thyroid Forum and ask Dr. Lupo at http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/120      OR
at left of page almost top, under "Thyroid Disorders" in red click on "thyroid" it will take you to the forum.

If you have posted more than one post per the sites rules for doctors forums, you probably won't get in.  Or if the forum is full and not taking any more questions for the day, you can try another day.

Good luck and best of health!
