new diagnosis

I have been diagnosed within the last two weeks with a left branch bundle block and then upon completion of a stress test, an EF of 40-45%.  I am just starting to learn about all of this, so my knowledge of all of the terminology is limited at this time.  I am asymptomatic, so this diagnosis has taken me by surprise to say the least.  The cardiologist did not expect to see reduced function after seeing me for the block, but decided to order the stress test to check further.  I am 53, no history of alcohol, smoking or diabetes but a history of family heart disease which is sketchy at best.  I am active and have always been a thin woman.  The cardiologist has recommended that I start Coareg.    He does believe that there is a relationship between the block and the reduced function.   What is your experience with this diagnosis and is this a typical protocol for treatment?  Thanks,  Nancy

Generally, a left bundle branch block is a marker of a cardiac problem and you may have a non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.  Coreg is a drug given for this problem.
