Red Itchy bump

by mel864, Oct 27, 2007 07:54PM
Hello
I am 42 years old and have had a red spot, sometimes very itchy on the very tip of my clitoris on and off for the last 4 months.  Very annoying.  Over a year ago I was put on birth control pills to reduce an internal pain around my ovaries (undefined) and started to experience yeast infections a few months after...quite a few actually, tried changing pills, but had other symptoms, eventually managed to control the infections by the spring of this year, and then in the summer started experiencing this reddish area, not raised, or open, just obviously redder than the surrounding area right on the tip and slightly under.  Have been to my doctor 3 times now, and although I do have herpes, from 20 years ago, these tests results come back neg for that and trichomoniasis (i think) and now I just sit and wait for a gynecologist appt, which I have been waiting for 1 month now and still no appointment and they said it takes 3 months to get in once an appt is finally made.  I can't wait anymore, my life is falling apart...and I feel SO desperate to resolve this...I am now on a daily dose of apo fluconazole (50mg) and stopped using the 1% hyderm hydrocortisone(seemed to make it worse) and also take 1 200mg acyclovir each day just to keep it at bay...,but it is still there, definitely not as irritated as it has been, but it is still there none the less.  I don't know if this is an internal hormone thing, as my doctor suggested, so I stopped taking my birth control pills last month, but still have the problem.  I am so stuck, not sure if this is contagious, as I do have a partner, or if it's internal...or what...would appreciate anything you might be able to suggest...thank you.

Ok, me again, not sure how to add to original note, so I am sending to myself, anyway, just went to a drop in clinic, the dr. there said she has never seen/heard of this problem before, but that it doesn't look like anything contagious, or herpes, or yeast or tricho anything, and that all the meds I'm taking are for not, (btw, forgot to mention that I am using canesten too) and that I had been using that steroid cream on the area for 3 months....and that she will see if she can't get me an appt sooner with a gyno, but if anyone has any ideas what to do...even a slight suggestion, that would be great...thank you.
