Headache for over 2 weeks

by AJ26, Oct 28, 2007 02:24PM
I was having sex and right before I achieved an orgasm I suddenly got a headache on the left side of my head. The pain is not there throughout the night but reappears about an hour or so after I wake up. It feels as if the pain is behind my left eye and goes to the back of my head and it goes from my temple to my eye. It also gets worse the longer I am awake. Sometimes it is dull and achy other times it is sharp and pulsating. However it has been persistant for 2 weeks now. I am also expieriencing some eye twitching. It feels as if it is going into my ears and sinuses as well. I do not have any nasal dripping. At times it also feels as if there is pressure behind my cheekbone almost like my bone was going to crack.

I have been given an eye exam and the optomitrist said everything was fine. I have seen my regular doctor and he sees no sign of sinus or ear problems. I was also given a CT scan without the dye and that was fine. I was told it could be migranes, cluster headaches, or possilby headaches caused by sex. However none of these syptoms seem to be what I am having. Cluster headaches from what I have read come and go throughout regular intervals throughout the day. Migranes normally last anywhere from 1 to 5 days. They have been persistant and constant for the past 2 weeks and the only thing that helps has been loratab and at times it only takes the edge off and doesn't releave the pain completely. Also any activity which causes me to strain myself has made them worse. The doctors do not seem to have any ideas as to what is wrong with me and I am hoping for some kind of direction or any ideas.

Hi,
I would suggest you to please get your blood pressure checked as you may have high blood pressure which may be causing these symptoms.Good luck!
