Brain Tumor?

by Njiniyela, Oct 28, 2007 06:15PM

I recently cut off my hair and noticed what looks like a golf ball sized lump at the back of my head. My brother always said that I have a knuckle head, but this is a "knuckle" that I have never noticed. It feels a little "fleshy" for lack of a better description, so it is not my skull. I do not have any typical symptoms of brain tumors (vision loss, headaches, dizziness, ceasures, pain, etc), but I am still concerned. What type of doctor should I see for this?

You can start at a primary care physician, general practice. I would say it's not a brain tumor. A brain tumor would be under your skull, and that would  not be something you would be able to feel; however, the pressure increase throughout your skull of a lump that large would be causing major headaches. Is this lump you describe movable? Or fixed? It could be a cyst or fatty benign tumor, either way I would recommend having it looked at, whenever in doubt. Let me know, keep me updated.
