neck pain

I have had a severe pain in my left neck, mostly right under and below my skull for over 2 weeks now. It hurts so bad I am unable to roll over in bed or lift my head when getting out of bed. It is eased by sleeping in an almost upright position, but every time I lie down, the pain returns and does not go away. I am 7 wks pregnant and cannot take meds other than Tylenol, which is not helping. I have tried ice and heat, but with little effect. Any ideas of the cause? There is no headache or arm/hand involvement.
