Problems after surgery

by hbomb2704, Oct 29, 2007 12:06AM
I was diagnosed with chiari malformation at the age of 12 and I had a c1 laminectomy and craniectomy to fix it. I had had migrane headaches and high pressure on my optic nerve which they said was papilidema. All of this went away after surgery but about 4 years later, I started feeling very dizzy all the time and we found out the original surgeron had left a tiny hole in my sub-arachnoid and I was shooting out spinal fluid. I also was diagnosed with pseudo tumor cerebri and had surgery to fix the hole and he did  pseudo menignis seal. After this my pressure went shooting high and my eyes crossed and they did a lumbar puncture to see if the fluid would go to normal, but it didnt and a shunt was put in in may. I was ok at first but since then I have felt worse then ever. I am dizzy, I hear wooshing sounds at the back of my neck, I lose balance a lot, my spine hurts, I have random shocks on different parts of my body, ringing in the ears, loss of sensation, loss of spacial awareness(like if I move my arm I cant feel it), muscle weakness, and the list goes on. We checked the pressure a few months ago and it was lower, but we havent checked it in a while. On an MRI I had a few weeks ago they saw a litle bit of a fluid sac in the brain and that has been there for months and my surgeon is not worried about it but I know something is definitely wrong. Do you have any help for me?
