Nuts

Every day I make a snack baggie of pecans, walnuts, almonds and dried cranberries. I keep the total serving size at 1/3 cup which is about 200 calories. It breaks down to 4 of each nut and a couple teaspoons of of the cranberries. I know each kind of nut provides a different nutritional benefit and the berries provide antioxidants. I'm wondering if I'm getting the the full nutritional benefit of each one by only eating a partial serving. Would I be better off eating a 1/3 cup pecans one day, walnuts the next day, etc? I want to keep it at 200 calories so I don't really want to eat more of each. Thanks!

I suggest you continue to eat the combination of all the nuts and cranberries. It is great you are doing this because you are getting antioxidants and omega-3 fats. The fats from the nuts help keep our cholesterol down and heart healthy. Walnuts do have the most amount of omega-3 fats then the others, however, they all are a benefit and adds variety.
