I was right- stage 1 then stage 2 @ 7-8 months- I wanted to be sure of the advice I was giving was correct

yes they usually start baby cereal at 3-4 mos so at 6 they should def be eating it

Yes, 6 months sounds just right to start with one cereal type after the other. Our family doctor suggested at 4 months - that was 5 years - he only made sure that our baby had reached a proper weight just on breastmilk. Mind you, lately the advice is 6 months for start of solids to be sure they do not develop allergies. Not sure how serious this is to be taken.
