Hi,
I am a 29yo female and for the past 2 years of I have had neurological problems (e.g. migraines, vertigo, cognitive fuzziness) associated with the time from ovulation just through my menstrual cycle. I have had bipolar disorder for 8 years. The neurological problems were diagnosed as partial complex seizures although an EEG was inconclusive. I currently take a low dose of depakote which provides some symptom relief. Over this time, my period has gotten shorter in length (2-3 days) and is accompanied by night sweats. All hormone tests (LH/FSH,estradiol and prolactin) were normal and I was put on a soy milk regimen to control the symptoms which was helpful at first but is not as effective now. I was also diagnosed with osteopenia.
In the past month, I was diagnosed with an adrenal incidentaloma and additional blood tests were ordered. The doctor said that I have abnormally high aldosterone and renin but since my sodium and potassium were normal it was probably just stress (although no increase in cortisol was seen). I also had abnormally low DHEA.
I feel fatigued and crummy most of the time. So, I am wondering, could this all be related? If so, what do you advise? I am going to seek another medical opinion but I wanted to get some feedback here as well. Thanks in advance -dc
