Help Conceiving

by sweetie621, Oct 31, 2006 12:00AM
My husband and I are trying to conceive, but things are not as easy as we hoped.  Can anyone please offer some information on what they did to conceive or any advice. We would greatly appreciate any help we can get, we really want to have a child. Thank you!

How long have you been trying?  The average couple wil conceive without any extraordinary means with 12-18nmonths of beginning to ttc.

So until you hit the 12 month mark, I would say relax, enjoy lots of intimacy with your husband, put it out of your mind.  I know when I was obsessed it never happened.  Then when we were no longer ttc I got pregnant it happened right away.

If you are over the 12 month mark, it is time to start charting ovulation, etc.  If it is over 2 years, you should consult with a fertility expert.

Where exactly are you in the ttc process?

I guess i just don't know how to NOT have it on my mind?  I don't start to obsess about it until a few days before i start my period because i'm just too anxious & hopeful not to be thinking about it.  How do you stop ttc?  My husband & I have been trying for 18 months for our first.  been on clomid for 3 months now, this is our second go-round with IUI.  will find out this week if it worked or not.  it's just such a beatdown month after month.  my doc suggested a glass of red wine each night until 6 days after ovluation.  guess we'll see if it worked.  if so, i certainly pass it along.  :)  any other suggestions out there?  am open to all!

What worked for us after 3 yrs of trying was focusing on my orgasm. We heard from friends that whether you have one before during or after,it greatly increases your chances. The time I finally got preg we fooled around after intercourse and I had 2 more orgasms just to see if it worked and it did! Sorry if thats TMI but it works..and who wouldn't want to try that anyway? Good luck!
