Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

by Bev170, Nov 04, 2007 08:32PM
My 89 year old mother was admitted to the hospital a month ago due to Heart Failure. According the the cardiologist at the time that she was placed in the hospital, "Your mother is approaching end of life."  1500 mgs. of Amiodarone  was administered.  My mother has Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy.  The cardiologist states that it is at the "severe stage."

From the information that I have provided, do you view this as a critical case?  My mother is not on a heart monitor.  Should she be placed on one?
