Leaking urine

39-year-old mom of 2, over the years leaking urine has become progressively worse.  Must wear pantiliner every day which is usually fully stained with urine.  Sneezing, coughing, laughing, running cause the worst problems--almost need a maxipad!  After reading other resources, have tried kegel exercises for months with no apparent improvement.  Can't get urine stream to stop fully in mid-steam.  Don't really have urgency or over-active bladder problem, so the medicines I've read about don't seem appropriate for me.

What's the typical treatment for this?

Sounds like stress urinary incontinence. Your urologist or gynecologist/urogynecologist can help with pessaries, or surgery to correct the leakage. THese are usually quite successful. Your physical therapist can help with specialized pelvic muscle strengthening exercises.

Make sure you locate a physician with lots of experience in treating these.
