Urethral (Female) Cancer survivor needs mental support.

I would like to converse with any surviving  female that has had urethral cancer. Or someone that knew a urethral cancer patient that was a female. I am two years with no reaccurance and would like to converse with another person in regards to how they did

after there surgery,radiation and chemo.

I was diagnosed and treated for urethral cancer in 2005. After having everything removed including a kidney encased with tumors, I was treated with 30 daily sessions of radiation and a once a week chemo with cisplatin.  I did fine for a couple of months, then had to have part of my small intestine removed because of damage caused by the radiation.  I had a couple of good scans in between, then in december of 2006, it was discovered that the cancer spread to my lungs.  I am presently waiting to get my white blood count up before we start a new round of chemo.  I am combining supplements from a holistic doctor and will undergo some of her treatments to help me through this round of chemo.

thats a brief synopsis of where I stand.  I actually feel and look great.  One would never know I am sick in any way.

I was diagnosed with squamus cell periurethral cancer Oct. 2003. stated radiation late Nov. 2003, had 40 external beam radiation treatments and then in March 2004 I had high dose internal  (brachytherapy) radiation treatments. In June 2004 a single enlarged pelvic lymph node was found , on biopsy was positive for cancer. I took oral chem for the next year. With follow-up cat scans every six months. The node disappeared, and my follow -up cat scans have all been negative. So I have had no recurrence for 4 years. Good luck in your journey.
