SEX AFTER HYSTERECTOMY?

HELLO,

SO I HAD MY HYSTERECTOMY 1 WEEK AGO TODAY AND I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SILLY QUESTION BUT I WILL ASK IT ANYWAY. SO I KNOW I WILL NEED TO WAIT AWHILE TO RESUME SEXUAL ACTIVITY BUT MY DOCTOR NEVER TOLD ME HOW LONG. ANYBODY KNOW? ALSO FOR THOSE WHO HAVE HAD A HYSTERECTOMY, HOW WAS IT THE FIRST TIME AFTER THE SURGERY? I AM SORRY I AM GETTING SO PERSONAL BUT I AM SCARED THAT NOT ONLY WILL IT HURT THAT IT WILL BE DIFFERENT, MAYBE EVEN NOT GOOD. ONCE AGAIN I KNOW THIS IS PROBABLY TOO MUCH INFO BUT I AM ASKING A VERY SINCERE QUESTION. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATTED.

Yes, you have to wait at least 6 weeks,you dont want to pop your stitches. But orgasms are just fine, so you can still play.

My dr told me i had to "explore other options" LOL!

I can't speak from experience, but it doesn't seem logical that there would be any difference sexually.  They didn't do anything to your vagina or clitoris, just your uterus.  It might even be liberating.

i had hysterectomy but they also took part of the vagina called the vaginal cuff. I waited the 6 wks took it slowly(had for some men!lol)and everything was fine. After 3 kids and op you would think it would be like waving a sausage in st pauls but it was ok. Just hold fire, go for check up, then take things slowly. If it gets painful stop.Dawn

It all depends on if the hysterectomy was abdominal or vaginal. if it was vaginal, they actually do cut you there.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU. I HAVE A POST OP APPT. ON MONDAY, I ALSO HAD ONE ON THIS PAST MONDAY. I FIGURED I HAD TO WAIT AWHILE AND THAT'S OK BECAUSE I AM STILL SORE. I DID HAVE IT DONE LAVH, WHICH IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS, IT IS LAPROSCOPICALLY ASSISTED VAGINAL ULTRASOUND, SI IT WAS REMOVED VAGINALLY. THANK YOU GUYS FOR NOT THINKING THIS WAS A STUPID QUESTION AND THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

this may sound crazy, but I had my hysterectomy in 2006, and I have actually gained 20 inches around my waist... has this happened to anyone else.

i had my vaginal hysterectomy done 4 weeks ago also with bladder repair and a ift back/front - all in all a designer vagina, im still bleeding slightly but an unpleasant odour - did you have this would it be infection, i tried playing with a vibe and got it so far and had to take it out it was like oh nooo i cant be having that - advise please
