pain relieved by burping

hello i am posting this topicing with the permission of the person i am going to talk about. a female around 55 has had pain in the chest relieved by burping, and was not seen a doctor about it, infact she hasent seen a doctor for awhile, what can it be? and how should it be approached?

She needs to go see her doctor.  Period.
