Funny Feet

by Ricarde, Nov 11, 2007 01:44AM
My nominated topic may be misleading - sorry.
I have some odd symptoms in my feet.
1. I occasionally have hot feet in bed and sleep with my feet exposed (not under cover)
2. I had a Mortons neuroma removed from both feet. These caused stabbing pains after several hours of cycling. The sympotoms did not occur at other times. The operation removed the neuroms from the top of the foot.
3. I have a feeling like my socks are "scrunched up" (very technical term!) when I walk. This symptom is most annoying. The symptom will disappear upon awakening after sleep. The symptom can get worse throughout the day, even when sitting. The symptom was present before the neuroma operation and all swelling from the operation seems to have subsided. The symptom occues not on the ball of the foot but where the 2nd,3rd and 4th toes join the foot. On the foot, not on the toes and it does not seem like a joint problem. Even with the symptom I can walk for a few miles without aggravating the condition. It feels like there is swelling on the base of the foot, like an extra few millimeters of flesh. It does not feel like a joint problem.
I have arthritis in one thumb, basel joint, and it seems to be coming in the other hand. The foot feeling is not like arthritis pain. The feeling is not of pain.
X-Rays and Ultrasound did not show any factors.
Could it be my nerves providing a false reading???
Do any nerves involved pass through the spinal column?

Any directional help would be most appreciated. My current doctors are lost for a diagnosis.

Regards

Ric
