darkening on head of penis

recently, maybe for two-three months i have noticed that the head of my penis, mostly around the opening, it has gotten a bit darker. i cant say its dark patches because it is not that consistant. it's on one side of the opening and a little bit on the other side and a few spots here and there but all surrounding the opening. it actually almost looks as though it's dirty (even though washing it does not help). slightly darker then normal color of the head of the penis. i am thinking it's either some sort of cancer or maybe some sort of fungus or infection. not sure though.
