Angina or anxiety?

by robbiedoug, Nov 13, 2007 10:50PM
Last June, I experienced what I considered a mild heart attack and ultimately had a stent implanted. Over the past few month, I have been having a series of what I feel is angina, but wonder if it could be anxiety. I am a recovering alcoholic and have been treated for 25 years for anxiety (Xanax); however, it has decreased over the past few years. The pain I experience now sometimes is only a mild stabbing pain in the center of my chest and at times it spreads across my chest from shoulder to shoulder, quite painful. And it usually comes on in the late afternoon or early evening, after I have relaxed from most of my daily duties, even though I am retired and only do minor household duties for the wife. Any ideas? Thanks,    Bob
