Sudden back pain, increasing rapidly

by how2hunt, Nov 14, 2007 06:40AM
I was in a car accident April/06; hit broadside on passenger side of car. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and have been experiencing horrific back pain, which seems to be worsening.  Because of the pregnancy, it was impossible to seek any medical assistance on my back until after, at which time I saw a chiropractor.  This resulted in temporary relief, which always seemed to come back after a short period.  I'm 40.  From what I understand in my research, typically, forminal narrowing occurs in people much older and over a course of several years, when brought on by arthiritis. Besides the fact that I was extremely active before and can no longer function in most activities I used to enjoy, is there any way of knowing if the accident caused this, besides the timing?

That is not pleasant.
In answer to your question, unless you had MRI's or CT Scans before and after the accident to compare there is no way to know if there were any significant changes to your spine and surrounding disks, etc.

April 2006 is a long time ago. Besides the chiropractor which obviously has not given you relief in the long term, have you consulted any doctors?

Good Luck
