I am considering having surgery to remove my Fibroadenomas. i have about 3 + in different positions of both my breasts. Am wondering if the surgery would effect my breasts from growing?
I am 16years of age.

Talk to your surgeon, but one thing I was told is that surgeries and even biopsies create scar tissue which makes later mammograms and MRIs more difficult to read, and this is esp. for dense-breasted women.

You should also weigh the reasons for removing them. If they are causing pain, then there is good reason to remove them. If it is because of fears of cancer, removing them is not likely going to change your  risks. In general, the surgery wouldn’t  affect growth if that is the concern.   The amount of scarring if big enough may cause some deformities – the risks for these would depend on the skill of your surgeon, this you may need to discuss before the procedure.

My daughter had the same type of lump when she was 19.  The Dr. told her there would be very little scarring and her breast wouldn't look much different.  She was disappointed with the results as there was a noticeable scar a little over an inch long...and her breast ended up looking  smaller than the other one.  (She had small breasts to start with)
