Small red growth on skin

by speechyness, Nov 15, 2007 08:09PM
Recently, I had a malignant melanoma removed, superficial spreading type.
I had a sentinel node biopsy, and thank God, it was normal.
Now, I am very concerned about other areas of my skin. I'm due to get a total skin
check in a few weeks. Meantime, I noticed a very small, raised, light red pink
bump on my back which concerns me. It isn't very big, and doesn't itch or bleed.
However, I first noticed it this week. It is much smaller than a pencil eraser and all
the same color. Do you think this is of concern?  It seems firm to touch. Thank You!

It doesn't sound significant.  Point it out to the doctor when you go next.  It's important, of course, to have your skin checked regularly, which you obviously plan to do, but over time you'll become less concerned as you see that most if not all of the rest of your spots will not need to be removed.

Best.
