MADE 6 DOZEN COOKIES QUAKER OATMEAL QUICK 1 MINUTE RECIEPT, JUST NOTICED THE EXPERATION DATE SAID, BEST IF USED BY SEPT. 23 2006. CANT TELL IF THERE BAD, THEY STILL SMELL LIKE OATMEAL COOKIES. ARE THEY SAFE TO FEED TO MY FAMILY. CALLED THE QUAKER OAT COMPANY, THERE NOT OPEN ON THE WEEEKEN. CAN YOU GIVE ME A ANSWER.  THANK YOU

The Oats should be ok after that expiration date if the container was not opened. I would decard the remaining oats in the container.
