Monavie & HIV

by firegirl112, Nov 18, 2007 06:43PM
I am looking to see if anyone with HIV has tried Monavie. Would like to know if your bloodwork improved, energy levels increased or did you stay unchanged. This is a really good natural juice that provides excellent nutrition and its high in antioxidants.
your input would be greatly appreciated. friend in need.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did you take mona vie? I have a good friend and her brother is HIV positive. I know with monavie, it builds your red & white blood count and it seems to help from any cellular damage. I realize that a person with HIV already has cellular damage, but if we could protect the good cells, maybe, just maybe there could be a positive outcome of long term use of monavie. It isn't a miracle drug, nor do they claim to cure anything, but it is good nutrition. Rebuilding the immune system would be the key thing.

I just know that a bunch of the CFIDS sufferers have tried it with me we went to the meetings and the whole sales pitch We all really felt it was a pyramid scam but I tried it for several months and really did try to make it work for me but I felt no difference

I have passed the information on to a doctor in Atlanta, Ga to see what he thinks about it. I know what it has done for me, even though i'm not HIV positive and just wish there was some way to help my friends brother and others that are suffering from this illness. Good luck and thanks for all your info.

I am HIV+ (since 1984) and started Monavie 4 months ago. I had a base level blood draw prior to starting the Monavie and after 3 months these tests were redone. Also, prior to the start I was very fatigued, so much so, that I was on the couch by 4 or 5 o'clock and done for the day. After drinking the Monavie for a week my arthritis pain was gone and by the third week, I was working around the house until my bedtime around 11pm. This was a joy to my wife... she had her husband back. As far as my blood work was concerned, after 3 months the anemia was all but gone, my CD4 count almost doubled, and my cholesterol returned to normal. I have also noticed an improvement in my eyesight, my reading prescription dropped down, I needed new lower powered reading glasses; I on longer use my distance glasses at all. I've also seen some skin irritations diminished. I gave it to a friend and she had even better results than I did. I'll drink it for the rest of my life!

Would love to here more about what Monavie has done for you.  We just started a friend on "the juice" because of what it has done for us.

Would love to know how much you are taking.

Hope you continue to enjoy the benefits of health.  I feel the same way about taking it for life.  I have been pain free since I started taking it in November.  I, too, was not interested in the business - but I am now taking it for free and have some friends who are benefitting from taking it.  Be well

Can I ask after 2 years of contracting HIV how was your health? ...I'm worried I have it, I'm going for a test this month when I have a free weekend, I had a high risk encounter in august 2005 [went travelling and had sex with an indonesian woman] - 4 months ago, I had bad illness for about a month - my glands in my neck swelled up to a big size and it felt like eating glass when i was eating food, this went on for about 4 weeks, then during a period of 2 more weeks, the pain began dissapearing. Now my glands are still bigger than they should be, I have painful armpits every now and then [could be mucsle pains as I do swim every day] - I haven't been ill since and wasn't really ill any time between the incident and falling ill 4 months ago.... Co-insidently, I was Ill 2 days after kissing a girl in a nightclub and though it could be glandular fever, but after reading up on glandular fever, I highly doubt it was that as it sounds a lot worse than what I had.

Any advice from anyone who has experience of my situation would be good.... I also have a small lump [like a swollen taste bud] on the tip of my toungue which has been there for about 2 years now. Until i was ill 4 months ago, I had no other symptons other than this toungue thing. I know that you can't give me a diagnostics as I ahve to go for a test, but any clues would be nice; I'm going for a test ASAP as I've met a really nice girl [the girl who I was kissing before I came ill 4 months ago] and don't want to do anything sexually with her till I know for sure.... If I have a test now, and it comes out negative, does this mean I'm 100% clear? and if its positive does that mean im 100% positive? thanks.

There is no way I can know for sure, of course, but I am very skeptical that your question is not simply a poorly-disguised attempt to promote this multi-level-marketing fad for your own financial benefit by attempting to dupe people with a serious illness.
There is absolutely no good evidence that Monavie has any positive effect on health
whatever. Testimonials are not good evidence.
The Monavie website states only that it contains phytonutrients and antioxidants. You can get just as many antioxidants by eating a red Delicious apple for under a dollar as by drinking Monavie at $7 or more per 8-oz serving.
Testimonials, such as the one from "happy2bhere46", are worthless as evidence.
If you "feel better" after you start drinking Monavie, it is surely due to the placebo effect.
Sure, it would be fun to believe that Monavie is a magical healing elixer, but one has to examine the evidence and there isn't any for Monavie. Proper evidence would consist of  multiple randomly controlled double-blind trials in humans with a control group, conducted by an independent organization over a significant period of time and with a sizeable and select population.
Instead of buying Monavie, spend your money on whole, fresh produce such as leafy greens and brightly-colored fruits and vegetables. Enjoy their freshness, texture and taste and you will also get their phytonutrients and antioxidants which may have healthful effects.
