Multiple artificial disc FDA approval in US

by sunsetbonz, Nov 18, 2007 08:42PM
Hi! I've been waiting for the FDA to approve multiple artificial discs in the US for about four years now. I've been rupturing my discs since I was 17 (I'm nearly 52 now). I've had two surgeries, the last a failed fusion of l4 and l5, seven years ago. I need at least two replacements, and since I'm averaging a rupture every six months or so...maybe more. I have extensive arthritis, which I can live with, with pain meds and exercise...but when I have a rupture it's at least a month before I can get back to work, and do anything else. Is this really something that's worth waiting for, or is there something else I can explore?
