cluster headache?

This is my situation. For the last 10 years I've been getting monsterous headaches usually during the late spring and again in the late fall. The spring headaches used to last 2 weeks and were about 30 minutes in length, but this past year they lasted from the beginning of June to the 2nd week of July and the duration was up to 2 hours. The fall episodes were 1 week and at present,  I'm past that. After the more severe pain is gone, I get pulses in the head that make my upper body twitch. They were behind the left eye including the top left top of the head, now only top left of head. They seem to be cluster headaches. I've been to a neurologist who recommended spraying Solarcaine up my nose. I've had nasal surgery done to remove sinus pollops, remove the uvula and tonsils shaved. I've had a sleep study done, nothing there. 4 CAT scans have not  revealed anything either. Used Imitrex and muscle relaxers with no effect. After the headache runs its course, the top of the head is very sensitive. I'm in Central Florida. If you can suggest a treatment, a Clinic or a known doctor in this field, ANYTHING,  it would be appreciated.

Hello, thanx for invitation.  When I posted my comment on Migraine & Headache forum, I had been told that it appears to be Cluster headache, did some investigation myself but not conclusive.
Yesterday, went to doc. for check-up, they did the general neural, co-ord and reactive tests, then sent me for blood (they took 4 vials) going to do a full blood work-up, and x-rays taken of neck and head are going to be reviewed by specialist.
So, now am waiting for results which will be in about 10 days time.
How long have you been suffering with Cluster headaches and are they text book by description or do yours have their own special little quirks and happenings? Thanx J

I have cluster headaches. Dr prescribed Maxalt. I put one on tongue when I feel one coming on.  These headaches are so debilitating. I had to initially go to ER when I had my first one. This pill works for me. They are expensive if you don't have insurance. Hope you get some relief. :-)

additional information. I'm a 50 yr old male. The headaches also will wake me up from a sound sleep approximately 1 and a half hours after going to bed. I could almost set a clock to them happening. I also have a muscular knot in my upper left shoulder, when pressure is applied, the pain will increase with a larger pulse up the neck and into the head.
