My Baby Has Gas

by LilBabe, Nov 19, 2007 07:20AM
Hi there! my 2 month old baby likes to be breastfed all the time. Sometimes I give him formula too. After eating I try to burp him and sometimes he doesn't burp or falls asleep on me. When he doesn't burp he gets a gas build up, his stomach swells a bit and he passes gas like crazy. He is sometimes in a lot of pain and he sometimes develops a fever not a high fever but a bit. What can I do? I do give him Gripe Water but can I give him baby tylenol when he feels like this?

If he falls asleep without burping, wake him up and try to burp him. Try laying him across your lap, on his stomach, and try burping him that way. He really needs to be burped for all his feedings so gas does not build up. Tylenol will not help with gas.
