VOC's during early pregnancy

I feel stupid posting this, but I'm concerned and I don't know who else to ask. We're leaving for Florida on 11/21 to spend Thanksgiving with my husband's family. My brother-in-law (whose house we're staying at for 4 days) just informed me that they are having new carpet installed throughout the house the day before we get there. They have the house closed up with A/C on all the time because of the heat/humidity in FL. I am 16 weeks pregnant and have read a bunch of articles online about the dangers of VOC's during pregnancy. Do I have any reason to be worried about this?
