Clitoris damage?

I have heard that females who masturbate using an electric toothbrush can damage or desensitise their clitoris, is that true?  Would a Doctor strongly advise against this practice?

Hello,

I would think one would want to avoid causing significant irritation or damage to the clitoral skin.  In the absence of harming oneself, I don't think I or any other ob/gyn could advise you one way or the other.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
