Difficulty urinating after ejaculation...is it normal?

by jinrei, Apr 19, 2007 12:00AM
Alright, here goes:

Last night, as I slept, I ejaculated. by the time I got to the bathroom, I had already finished. Normally I tend to stop something like this, but this time, I couldn't.

Now, later that night, I felt the urge to urinate and I did....to my surprise, it would start out normally - I had to push it, force it out, and even then, it was a fairly weak stream.

This morning, it continues and I'm getting real scared. Is this sort of thing normal?

I was recently operated for a urethral stricture and the experience left me traumatized. I don't want to have to go through that again, and my doctor said I'd have to have an angioplasty done if the symptoms before the operation return. I don't want that, I can't have that.

Me, too.

Do you mean urethroplasty? You might want to consider that. I am glad I did.

If you go for it, try to find a doctor who specialises and has performed this procedure regularly.

Hi,

What caused your urethral strictures? Was this discussed with you?

What were your symptoms prior to the operation?

Urethral strictures may cause some problems with voiding as this may obstruct urethral passage of urine .However, you have posted that prior to urinating you have ejaculated
( and there was no problem with ejaculation). It is possible that the ejaculate may have dried up and blocked the urethral opening causing you to strain afterwards when voiding urine. However, if the symptoms persist and recurs then I suggest you seek immediate follow up with your urologist for proper management. How is everythng now? Any improvement?
