Hi Jaliere,
It is DW which causes Cerebral Palsy.Phenobarbitone is a good medicine as an Anti-convulsant.But if your child is too irritable, than you can see a neurologists and ask for review of anti-seizure medication what he is on.Cerebral Palsy is a disorder which is caused by damage to the brain. It inhibits muscle control, both fine and gross. It is a non-progressive disorder.Medicine for CP,really there is no cure for damage occurred, but definitely his other vital function and his daily function can be smoothen with help of supportive medicine, like medicine for his muscles,so that ,they dont go into stiffness.Physiotherapy and occupational therapy to be consulted for his further independancy.Scan is important to know how dilatation of ventricles(cavities in brain) has occurred.Same neurologist to be consulted everytime, hence a follow up could be maintained.
Thanks
