Asthma and Headaches

My son is 4 yrs. old. He was diagnosed with asthma when he was a baby. We have problems every fall/winter. However, lately he hasn't been wheezing with his attacks. He comes to me sweating terribly and says his head hurts (he's crying with a headache). There's no coughing, just shortness of breath, rapid pulse, severe headaches and sweating. Is this really asthma? Everytime he comes to me with a bad headache, I assume it's asthma.
