ventolin's not working

by soundandvision, Nov 28, 2007 11:16AM
After about 5 years of having my ahstma completely controlled and not effecting me at all i've found mysely wheezing and short of breath again and ventolin is just making my heart race and making me shakey. I've had a short course of steroid tablets because the difficulty breathing was affecting me at night but im still having to take alot of ventolin during the day and im finding the way it makes me feel is so un comfortable it's affecting my studying. My doctor's not being particularly sympathetic and is reluctant to suggest any alternatives to ventolin, can you please tell me if there is anything else available as this is driving me mad

Absolutely.  Taking a reliever alone for what you have described is probably not the way to go.  There are safe inhaled steroids that will control the inflammation and keep you from having these problems.  I would suggest speaking with your physician about this medicine.
